Rishabh Pant was not so long ago seen as the perfect replacement for MSD. But his form has deserted him and he is in a state of complete confusion right now. Most of the time that he has spent on the field in recent tournaments was spent walking towards the pavilion.
In fact, record books say that the time taken by Pant to go to and from the Pavilion is more than the time spent by him at the crease. And he did not want his reputation to take a back seat, hence he designed a unique work from home schedule where he practiced the things that he did on the cricket field.
Pant placed a poster titled ‘Pavilion’ and has been walking towards it at his home for the last 2-3 days. His family members are proud of the dedication shown by the Indian wicket-keeper even during the time of lockdown. New Chief selector Sunil Joshi has admired Pant’s work ethics and has advised other cricketers to follow a similar routine to stay in contention for the Indian squad.
Ashish Nehra talked recently about Rishabh Pant, who was replaced by KL Rahul in the playing eleven, as well. Pant was being seen as the unchallenged successor of legendary MS Dhoni but his inconsistent and poor performances with the bat and behind the wickets saw KL Rahul don the gloves in the last 2 series’ for India.
